Fr. Jude's Story

I walked the streets of my hometown of Bacolod City for years witnessing the everyday struggle of the local street children. Faced with poverty, drugs, and violence I did my best to help as many children as possible, but I knew in order to break their cycle of poverty a change had to be made. As a Catholic Priest at one of the churches in the city, I gathered members of our community to help attend to the immediate needs of the children. The garage of our church became the first "youth center". I went the popular areas where the street children hung out spreading the message of the center. Members of the community donated sacks of rice, clothes, and toys for the children. More children started to join and numbers grew from just a few to now about 50 consistent attendees receiving aid on a weekly basis. We have now moved out of the church garage and to a better facility that can accomodate more children. Now we we are partnered with the Santo Niño Orphanage. With their help we are now able to provide a place for the children they can accomodate from our youth center to receive housing and education.

We are still learning on our journey as an organization, but with that comes the many smiles of children we help along the way. This is a movement that we cannot do alone. With the help of our local communities and abroad we can create a better life for children in all areas of our earth.
